As the Director, Medical Communications and Scientific Training you will be responsible for leading the development of US Vaccines medical communication assets and create scientific communication plans, tactics, field medical educational material and external tools in alignment with the US Medical affairs leads.In this role you will also be accountable for materials required at symposia, presentations, and MSL trainings; provide medical accuracy review on additional materials and will liaise with cross-functional team including Medical Information, Commercial, and Global Medical Affairs. Additional responsibilities include representing US on the Global SciCom matrix team, collaborating with investigators, congresses, medical experts and authors. The role will work in close partnership and collaboration with Global Scientific Communications organization and the US Medical Information Team.This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Collaborate with MMT to create and update US specific scientific narratives linked to evidence generation plans, US Vaccine strategy, and specific to US customer dynamics.Develop and drive execution of US specific scientific communication plans for GSK assets, leveraging and applying Global Scientific Communication plans as appropriate, aligned with SSOs and the USMAL/Med Dir leadership.Leverage clinical publication / data dissemination plan for the creation of simultaneous and aligned enduring materials and educational activities.Provides strong US voice into the development of Global Scientific Platforms and the Global content co-creation process.Develop accurate and impactful scientific deliverables including symposia, slide decks and MSL tools (e.g. infographics, interactive media), in alignment with Med Dir lead and medical communications agencies (when appropriate).Lead the development of the US Vx Medical Congress strategy for the aligned assets and oversee pull through of the communication plan in the medical booth, leveraging and applying Global congress plans to US congress plans as appropriate.Ensure organization has timely awareness of competitor scientific activity & its implication to the overall US treatment landscape & scientific narratives.Ensure timely dissemination internally up to date scientific data including recent publications, insights, presentations, study specific information, and scientific statements, providing training as needed to MA associates.Develop and ensure provision of training for the Field Medical teams on US scientific narratives, disease states, GSK and external competitive data in collaboration with the Medical Director.Lead the strategic analysis and innovative design of medical curricula incorporating adult learning principles for all US approved and pre-launch vaccines. Update curricula on an on-going basis.Ensure the development of robust customer-segment specific scientific communication resources for Field Medical and HQ use (e.g., at congresses) in partnership with MI and Med Directors.Ensure the development and execution of innovative tools for internal and external communication including digital/social media delivery.Partner with Med Director to ensure the development and execution of an omnichannel plan, if relevant for the given asset, in collaboration with Medical Analytics and Digital and Tech.Hold quarterly planning meetings for aligned asset(s) to plan content creation and trainings and review and align on draft FMEP priorities for the next quarter. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: PharmD, PhD, or advanced science degree required (Master of Science, MPH).3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical company or communications focusing on vaccines.Medical Affairs experience.Experience in developing medical education tools and material for field medical and internal medical teams.Experience with strategic and tactical publication planning, development of abstracts, manuscripts, and slide decks with scientific content.Deployment of medical education meetings and digital/social media delivery.Working within cross-functional teams.Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Knowledge of publication guidelines and practices.Ability to interpret, analyze and organize scientific data.Ability to work with new technology and teach others.Ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate to diverse audiences.Proven ability to interpret customer needs as well as negotiation and influence skills.Ability to prioritize business needs and flexibility to address them when business appropriate.Ability to cope under pressure with sometimes conflicting priorities.Ability to produce concise and simple summaries of concepts and solutions.Ability to complete complex assignments independently.Demonstrated strategic ability.Demonstrated consistent performance.Demonstrated leadership ability to work in a matrix environment with senior management.Ability to build strong business relationships across various departments.#LI-GSK Why GSK?
