Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Technical Author role is as follows: To manage all allocated Technical Publications activities within MLS through the tendering, design, manufacture, test and delivery processes to ensure that customer requirements are met or exceeded. To ensure that all Technical documentation is undertaken in the most cost effective manner to achieve a quality level that meets customers' specifications. To ensure that all tasks are undertaken and managed in accordance with the programme and budget. To manage the development of all Publications (Commercial & Military), both electronically and hard copy, within the budgeted cost and programme requirements. To support ILS activities and the development of Logistic Support Analysis Records. To minimise product liability cost by the provision of the correct level of information within the Technical Documentation by the inclusion of precise operating and maintenance instructions, together with adequate Warning and Cautions. To help develop the Technical Publication processes and procedures to improve business efficiency.
