We are currently looking for an experienced Oncology Triage.Maxxima have recently partnered with one of the UKs specialist provider of diagnostic and healthcare solutions. We are currently looking for an experienced Oncology Triage Nurse who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership for the service. This post is based in Central London, which is easily accessible via public transport. About the role: You will be working in a clinical and service development capacity to ensure the service to patients is planned, delivered, and evaluated in line with evidence-based practice. Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to help create and maintain a robust service whilst seamlessly incorporating other centre services. Your main responsibilities as an Oncology Triage Nurse: - To provide high quality nursing care through telephone backssment to identify clinical urgency and necessary care level. - Utilise your practical nursing skills to provide direct patient care to on the backssment Unit where the role will be based. - You will participate in the backssment, diagnostic testing and management of the acute cancer patients and promote the acute oncology services via established educational activities. What we are looking for in an Oncology Triage Nurse: - NMC registered Nurse - Post registration experience within haematology or oncology setting or equivalent. - Experience in UKONS 24 Hour Triage Tool - Intravenous chemotherapy administration experience. - Wide and evidence-based knowledge of systemic anti-cancer treatments e. g. chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy etc and the known and lesser-known side effects of these.
