The candidate will assist in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, provide patentability opinions, manage patent estates, and handle licensing and enforcement matters for a diverse clientele. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with experienced practitioners in a collaborative environment while advancing a career in Intellectual Property law.Duties:Assist with the preparation and prosecution of patent applicationsProvide patentability and clearance opinionsManage patent estatesHandle licensing and enforcement of patentsHandle high-level and strategic aspects of legal matters from inception to conclusionProduce quality legal work and bill required hours for excellent client serviceGenerate business through group and individual effortsActively make decisions on client matters with minimal supervisionActively delegate tasks as neededEmbrace learning new skills and technology, sharing knowledge with othersWork as a diligent member of client teams and begin to lead teams in mattersInfluence the awareness and adoption of the Firm's values, diversity, and inclusionRequirements:Juris Doctor degreeBachelor's or higher in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer SciencePatent preparation and prosecution experience in software, computer science, electrical, or mechanical areas preferredLicensed to practice law in good standing in one or more jurisdictions where the Firm conducts businessRegistered to practice before the USPTO1 year of experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm (2-8 years preferred)Skills:Strong attention to detailGood interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and productivelyStrong written and oral communicationEthical standards in the legal profession Independent lawyering with top of the market pay, this firm offers flexible hours, a good work/life balance, and diverse clientele.
