The Technical Support Specialist is a critical role designed to address advanced technical issues. This position requires on-site visits to outpatient healthcare clinics, delivering comprehensive technical assistance and ensuring robust IT operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and troubleshooting FortiNet's security appliances and network solutions. Responsibilities Serve as the primary escalation point for advanced IT-related issues, particularly those involving FortiNet technologies. Conduct on-site visits to healthcare clinics to resolve complex technical issues, including the deployment and troubleshooting of FortiNet firewalls, switches, and APs. Install, configure, and maintain end-user and network hardware, emphasizing FortiNet products alongside other technologies. Utilize diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and optimize network connectivity, with a strong focus on FortiNet's associated software stack. Coordinate equipment repairs and manage relationships with vendors, focusing on FortiNet equipment under warranty or RMA procedures. Provide targeted training to Tier 1 technicians and clinic staff on IT protocols, with a focus on the operation and troubleshooting of FortiNet solutions. Maintain and update IT documentation and SOPs, ensuring best practices in using FortiNet technologies. Assist in the rollout and integration of new technologies, with an emphasis on FortiNet products. Skills & Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of IT support experience, including significant hands-on experience with FortiNet firewall, switch, AP, and software solutions. Demonstrated ability in Office 365, Azure, and Active Directory management, with a strong foundation in network security principles. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Admin Center and services like Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams. Deep understanding of TCP/IP protocols, network layering, and advanced connectivity solutions using FortiNet technologies. Relevant experience in healthcare settings and familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems is preferred. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, especially in high-pressure situations. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, capable of instructing and supporting diverse teams. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple clinic sites. Associates' degree in Information Technology or related field preferred. Certifications such as Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE), CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are highly desirable. Work Environment Must be able to travel frequently to various clinic locations as needed (valid driver's license and insurance required). May involve lifting and transporting IT equipment up to 50 lbs.
