The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:Job Overview: The ERISA attorney–partner will lead and oversee legal matters about executive compensation, benefit plans, and regulatory compliance for clients. This role requires extensive experience in ERISA law, exceptional client service skills, and the ability to develop new business opportunities.Duties:Designing, drafting, and consulting on legal issues involving executive compensation, severance, and executive equity plansAssisting clients with matters involving the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC)Advising clients on benefit plans and executive compensation issues in mergers and acquisitionsCounseling on the design, implementation, and ongoing administration of employee benefit plansEducating clients on legislative and regulatory developments and proposing solutionsDrafting and interpreting defined contribution plans and defined benefit plansConsulting on legal issues related to the administration and compliance of health, welfare, and fringe benefit plansDeveloping new clients and business contactsRequirements:J.D. from an ABA-accredited schoolAdmitted to practice in Colorado or ability to be admitted to the Colorado Bar10+ years of experience in qualified retirement plans, employee benefit plans in mergers and acquisitions, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), executive compensation, fringe benefits, and/or health and welfare plansSkills:Strong work ethicEntrepreneurial attitudeHigh level of attention to detailExemplary client service skillsEducation/Certifications:J.D. from an ABA-accredited schoolAdmission to practice in Colorado or eligibility for admission to the Colorado BarThe firm offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, long-term disability, flexible spending, 401(k), Paid Time Off, paid holidays, bonuses, and more.
