Foxy, a charming progressive Deli Caf in McLeansboro IL, is looking for a Manager/Chef We are looking for a creative energetic individual who: Believes in creating enticing flavors, honoring each ingredient in his/her food preparation Prefer to source local, seasonal and sustainably grown and raised products, whenever possible Effectively communicate to staff with passion and dedication to be one of the best , who is highly engaged and hands on in day to day operations. Able to articulate and demonstrate a wide ranging variety of cooking techniques and skills (plate presentation, quality, safety, proper culinary techniques) Wants the opportunity to take Foxy and their career to the next level The ideal candidate should have: Proven Experience in Chef/Manager role; managing a unique operation with a creative management background. A Proven record managing hourly staff Experience training & developing staff, supervising, coaching and enhancing staff in culinary and service experience Experience working with food quality, menu, presentation, recipe, techniques, portions, taste, and menu development Experience in a P&L account is a plus, managing food & labor cost Ensuring Standards including recipe compliance, safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards. The Deli Caf Manager at Foxy is responsible for all aspects of day to day operations management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, employee relations, menu and recipe development, purchasing and inventory, food and labor cost controls, customer relations and marketing. Basic Requirements Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, Vocational School Degree, or proven work record Management Experience - 1 year Cooking Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services Have or able to acquire a State of Illinois Food Service Managers certification within 90 days
