The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position Overview Under the general direction of the Radiologist or Chief Technologist, the incumbent is responsible for: backssing patient status and determining which contrast should be used; initiating I. V. 's in CT and, as needed in MRI; assisting the Technologists as needed; administering oral and IV sedation in CT and MRI; providing quality nursing care to patients; providing close observation of patients during the administration of Contrast Media; backssing the severity of an allergic reaction and administering proper medication (as ordered by the Radiologist). Experience Experise in the establishment and management of IV's in patients is required. Recent related clinical nursing experience is preferred. Previous C. T. /MRI experience preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Graduate of an approved School of Nursing. Expertise in moderate conscious sedation preferred. Certification/Licensure/Registration Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM). Active participation in professional associations e. g.
